Billy is part of the CIPR multi-award winning communications team at West Midlands Police.

He provides specialist communication advice, expertise and guidance to officers and staff at all levels within the organisation.

Billy advises and guides senior managers at a strategic level and co-ordinates the efforts of communications officers at a tactical level to engage audiences.

Working with a high degree of flexibility and autonomy, Billy represents the force at a high level in discussions with influential external stakeholders including regional and national media.

He is responsible for planning, strategy development and delivery of news items and PR campaigns – covering both external and internal audiences – which supports understanding of the force’s vision and values and improves public trust and confidence in West Midlands Police.

Currently leading on communications for WMP2020, the force’s change programme.
